Most importantly there is a whole new way to play STEAM: instead of players only running a single company they now compete for ownership of the various companies with the primary shareholder in each company deciding the actions of that company each turn. As the game progresses the fortunes of the various companies will fluctuate, it is up to you to decide when to invest and when to cash in your shares. The two new maps are of nothern England and the majority of the USA east of the Rocky Mountains, along with parts of Canada. If used with the base and standard rules from STEAM then these maps are ideal for five or six players. The STEAM BARONS stock-market rules changes the game dramatically, with players now buying and selling shares in each of the six companies. This version of the game can be played by two, three, four, five or six players with equal enjoyment. STEAM BARONS contains 144 wooden train pieces, double-sided full colour mounted board, two punched counter sheets (additional track tiles, money and company display tiles), and a full colour English language role book. STEAM BARONS is not a complete game, it requires ownership of STEAM in order to play.
